Early spring morning

Early spring morning

On an early spring morning, while the lawn was still covered in dew, I awoke from a deep and restful slumber, ready to start the day anew. Perched on the rooftop were fresh Owens Corning shingles, just waiting to be installed. It looked quite odd, so layered and tall.

One by one, the shingles lay neatly out of their bundles, not one turned or tumbled, almost like a playful scene. They covered the roof at a rapid pace, rhythmically going on and on, creating a mesmerizing pattern.

As my stomach grumbled, I couldn’t help but smile, despite the lack of time. An appetite was gnawing at me, signaling that it was lunchtime. Oh my! My loud tummy was in need—break time had arrived for the roofing crew.

Time to eat—then back to work. With a sandwich in hand, the roof would soon be restored, transforming the house into a complete structure under the sun's warm glow, built through hard work, shingles, and the dream of a well-fed day.
